Everyone here at WLDC hopes that you got out of your home and navigated safely to where ever it is you were headed this morning. As well, hopefully there was a hot beverage waiting for you there. You’ll need it; several, in fact. Most people around here love the snow, but the aftermath is always headache. Take it slow and safe; remember, the area is still predominately Southerners. Especially when it comes to winter weather…so says the local.
Sadly our photo spread isn’t going to warm you up but it will amaze. Our contributors braved the snow and sleet to get some excellent shots from the area. So grab that hot drink, put your feet up, and enjoy the views.
Brian is so DC. Born on Pennsylvania Ave (not there) to a lifelong Federal worker father and a mother who has worked for Garfinkel’s, the Smithsonian, and Mount Vernon. Raised on the “mean streets” of Cheverly, MD; went to high school at Gonzaga College High School (Hail Alma Mater!); and now trolls the corridors of Congress as a lobbyist, you couldn’t write a more quintessentially DC back-story. As a Southerner, I feel obligated to defend her honor and propose that most of the travel problems related to DC & winter weather are NOT caused by Southerners, but by the large influx of international residents (and those from CALIFORNIA) who have never seen snow, much less driven in it. The only man I ever met who admitted to “abandoning” his car when the snow got too bad was from the Middle East, not from below the Mason-Dixon Line. Maybe some kind of statistical research is needed? Federal funding?
