Carl: On Friday I have two events to attend. The first is an open house at The Sphinx Club in DC and after a brief appearance there, Beautiful Girlfriend and I will go to a freind’s birthday party at the Ram’s Head Tavern Savage Mill. Saturday I will be catching up on some photography assignments and also have an appointment with someone who wants to be part of my tattoo photo project. I am looking forward to getting back into this project. I also hope to get together that afternoon with Wayan Vota so he can sample my homebrew, especially the kvass I made a few weeks ago. Sunday will be set aside as a day of rest. And gardening. I have lots of garden work to do.

Natalia: So sometimes I play this game where I pretend I am French. Not really… but I will this weekend because its Bastille Day- basically the greatest day next to our own country’s independence, in which we can indulge in wine, cheese, and listen to random French pop. And the best place in the District to do this? L’Enfant Cafe. The AdMo cafe will be closing off the entire street for a one of a kind block party. So drink your way through a relay race of French Maids, Can Can dancers, and say your little french prayers to win tickets to Paris, which naturally they will be raffling. Saturday night, continuing with the French traditions, will head over for dinner to Bistro Du Coin, as they also will be gearing up for a night of celebrations. Sunday, I am going to celebrate the King- of Pop….in the most traditional way one can, with acrobatics of course, so headed to the Verizon Center for Cirque de Soleil’s show Michael Jackson The Immortal.

Mosley: A weekend without Venus level temperatures?  FINALLY!  Saturday I have a crab feast put on by my brother to go to, so I’ll be spending all day outside.  But Sunday, I’m hoping to go check out the mini-golf at the National Building Museum.  I’m not getting to the beach this summer, so I have to get my yearly summer mini-golf in some how.  If I have free time on Sunday, I’m hoping to finally be able to go for a decent walk and get some street photos.  The heat has been keeping me in and it’s sucks, royally.

Addison: I’m getting the weekend started on a classy note as I patronize a restaurant that I have been meaning to check out for some time: The Mount Vernon Inn, with its whimsical colonial-inspired menu and servers in 18th century attire. Why yes, I WAS a history major. Saturday, I’m planning on making my first trip of the summer to the Arlington Farmer’s Market in Courthouse. I have no real plans for the evening, except for hanging out with some friends, but if I was going out I would probably hit up Cirque du Soliel’s Immortal at the Verizon Center, because, really, who doesn’t enjoy the King of Pop? Sunday is brunch day, but I’m not yet sure where that will happen, so give me some suggestions, dear readers.

Marissa: I’m starting my weekend off a little early with the (free) screening of “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” tonight down at Capitol Yards Riverfront, since it’s about time I went to an outdoor movie in DC. Friday and Saturday, I’m hopeful that I’ll have some time to take advantage of Capital Fringe Festival, but Saturday afternoon is totally blocked off for the All-You-Can-Eat Oyster Festival at Pearl Dive/Black Jack. Come Sunday, I intend on parking myself at the pool and getting some sun.

Nicole: After a couple weeks in New Orleans, it’s good to be back in DC! I’m hoping to take the day off on Friday, so tonight I’ll be hanging out at Atomic Billiards in Cleveland Park. Friday I’ll hit the DC Fairgrounds for a bite (or two, or three) and some cornhole at Truckeroo. Saturday I’ll finally get around to replenishing my refrigerator by visiting the New Morning Farm market at the Sheridan School. I can neither confirm nor deny my plans to see Magic Mike on Saturday night, and will wrap up the weekend on Sunday with a couple much-needed one-on-one coffee and ice cream dates with friends.

Tom: Well, thanks to a weekend that won’t be tropical-hell-hot, I will be out and about on my bike this weekend, as well as out and about on the car. It’s now blackberry season at Great Country Farms, and I could stand to make a tart this weekend. Also, I’ll trying out the new Atlas Arcade on H Street, perhaps as soon as tonight, while I wait for a seat at Toki Underground. Bring on the weekend.

Well I used to say something in my profile about not quite being a “tinker, tailor, soldier, or spy” but Tom stole that for our about us page, so I guess I’ll have to find another way to express that I am a man of many interests.

Hmm, guess I just did.

My tastes run the gamut from sophomoric to Shakespeare and in my “professional” life I’ve sold things, served beer, written software, and carried heavy objects… sometimes at the same place. It’s that range of loves and activities that makes it so easy for me to love DC – we’ve got it all.
