Marissa: I’m stretching my birthday out for as long as possible and celebrating a new job by kicking off Friday night with a party hosted by my best friend, Jennifer. We’ll probably all end up at either Madam’s Organ or Marvin. Saturday, an old friend from my high school fencing team (you read that right. Fencing.) is in town and I’m hoping we can catch up at Pound The Hill. Then it’s off to check out Nana, a neat clothing boutique, which reopens this week.

Patrick P.: I will be heading down to Miami this weekend to expierience the ever expanding Ultra Music Festival with Michael Darpino and my brother. I got some sun block with the special SPF to protect my body from free radicals caused by the sun. I also will be packing anti-crazy touchy raver repellant to ward off those that feel they can touch whoever they want while using illegal narcotics. My goal is to stay hydrated, excited, and dance myself into size 29 skinny jeans. I also plan on saying “Hello to my little friends” when I bust out some glow sticks and start jumping up and down till the sun goes up and down.

Jenn: One of the best theater companies in town, Synetic, unveils their next silent Shakespeare with King Lear Saturday night. I’ll be there eager to see how it turns out and share a review with you next week. The Cherry Blossom Kite Festival is this Sunday, and hopefully the weather will cooperate. Brunch at Locolat is also on my list. I’m really chomping at the bit to start biking around town with my new camera and go snap crazy for spring! So if you see a crazy blonde on a white bike, swerve.

Rachel: One of my closest friends from my time at AU will be back in town for the first time in months so we’ll be gallivanting around the Chinatown area. We’re thinking Rocket Bar for the laid-back atmosphere but you never know, we’ll likely end up going to Bar Louie (since they have Sam Adams Noble Pils on tap) and a movie at the Regal Cinema. Saturday I’m headed to Churchkey to talk book writing with my We Love DC buddy Carl before taking it easy for the rest of the weekend in anticipation of Major League Baseball starting back up again for the 2011 season on Thursday. There might be a quick pit-stop at the Kite Festival but that all depends on how efficient Metro decides to be that day.

Addison: After a string of very low-key, relaxed weekends, this weekend looks like it is shaping up to be a busy one for me.  Friday, I will be attending the Capitals viewing party cum birthday party for Kings of Leonsis blog founder (and close, personal friend) Adam Vingan. Follow him on Twitter! If you are into the Caps, they are a great new resource.  Saturday I’ve got another birthday that will be taking the form of an early brunch at Whitlow’s amazing brunch buffet bar (snow crab legs, anyone?).  Saturday night, I’m hosting a party for my kickball team at my house, so that will require some cleaning and a visit to Arlington Market which has one of the better keg lists I’ve seen.  Later, I’m sure we can expect a visit from some of Arlington’s Finest. Sunday, my yard is in dire need of repair, so I will head over to Cherrydale Hardware and Garden Center for some supplies and start on the spring yard clean up.

Rebecca J.: This weekend I will be staying far, far away from the Mall as I’m a crowd and traffic hater. Instead, if I want to check out cherry blossoms, I’ll take a Saturday drive up to just north of the DC border to the MD neighborhood of Somerset, where the crowds are minimal and the blossoms just as fluffy and cotton candy-esque. Saturday evening, I’ll swing by Blue Alley to catch former Conan band leader Kevin Eubanks lay down some fusion guitar vibes. Should be pretty chill. Sunday I’ll head over to the Dupont Farmer’s Market for their spring fruits and veggies; haven’t been there since the Fall and I’m psyched to see what glorious in season produce I can get my hands. Post food mission, I’ll be doing a thorough spring cleaning on my apartment. Out cobwebs, out!

Tom: This weekend, I’m off to Seattle for a bit of R&R, but if I were here, I’d be running out to BlackFinn on Saturday for the DCU/Revolution watch party to root on the black and red. Of course the National Marathon is this weekend (more details tomorrow!) and I’d likely be down at the finish line to root on all those crazy runners who just saw 26.2 miles of DC’s most gorgeous streets.  Good luck, runners, I hope it doesn’t snow!
