How awesome is it that we have Vault-themed ads for Fallout 3 on the Metro?
For those not in the know, Fallout is a series of turn-based adventure/role-play games set in the barren wasteland of a post-apocalyptic anarchy, where you play a survivor newly emerged from an isolated subterranean bunker called The Vault. DC-focused trailer video and images after the jump.
Here’s the first teaser video for Fallout 3, which tracks out from the interior of a retro-looking bus to reveal the ruins of what could be the city block just north of 14th and K Streets NW:
And here are some preview images from last year showing various scenes around a dirty, gritty, heavily modified postwar DC. Can you spot the changes? Any hardcore DC/sci-fi geeks want to nitpick these visions? (Click to see them larger.)
Update: Found a few more videos showcasing a few of the DC-centric 3D environments in the game; the Capitol Dome, Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, Washington Monument, and what looks like it might be the Smithsonian Natural History Museum:
And a funny retro movie about DC tourism from PreparefortheFuture.com:
Wow. Those shots at the bottom are amazing, and more than a little creepy.
VAULT BOY FOREVER!
All I have to say is frickin’ awesome!!!
I wonder what platforms it is going to be on. I hope PS3.
Great visuals.
Looks to be great.
It’s gotta be the Natural History Museum; it’s got the elephant.
