‘Michal Neuvirth’

Goalie Michal Neuvirth received a two-year contract extension today, according to the Washington Capitals. Financial details are not yet known.
The two-time Calder Cup-winning goaltender went 9-4-0 in 17 games last season, posting a 2.75 GAA and a .914 save percentage. He was drafted in the second round of the 2006 Entry Draft by the Caps and has been instrumental in the success of the Caps’ AHL affiliate in Hershey.
Neuvirth is expected to be with the Caps full time this season as Semyon Varlamov’s backup.
