For our second Glenn Beck rally related post of the day (forgive me) the GW Hatchet reports that a pair of rally goers didn’t take kindly to DC’s tyrannical bag tax:
“Though the rally was a mostly peaceful gathering, two rally attendees got into a heated argument with an employee at the GW Deli over the D.C. bag tax, which ultimately resulted in the tea party member throwing a sandwich in the deli employee’s face.”
The deli employee, obviously being the author of said bag tax, was a perfectly reasonable target for anti-tax rage. The rally goes, being voting members of the District of Columbia, had every right to be angry. All in all, an entirely measured and well reasoned outcome.
I nominate Eric Johnson and Meegs Benavidez
Were they wearing their Glen Beck rally shirts , ot their tea party hats ? Did they show their I’m with Beck cards ? There was 2 rallies that day. I wonder how you know which one they were with , that’s all .
Wow ! Here’s some amazing video ! It’s a must see you all you DCers . So the next time you wont be so fast to point fingers BEFORE the event !
Check out which “group” really trashed the mall !

James Freeman of the Wall Street Journal wrote :
“Not only was the rally akin to a “huge church picnic” (in one Journal reporter’s description), but one had to wonder if the over-achievers in this crowd actually left the area in better shape than they found it.
After the event, walking from the Lincoln Memorial’s reflecting pool through Constitution Gardens, this reporter scanned 360 degrees and could not see a scrap of trash anywhere. Participants and volunteers had collected all their refuse and left it piled neatly in bags around the public garbage cans. Near Constitution Avenue, I did encounter one stray piece of paper—but too old and faded to have been left that day.”
And still nothing from the site that was first to voice it’s concerns over what condition the people at this rally would leave the mall in .
Not one word to say they had it wrong , not one word of thanks , nope !
Now they find 2 people acting up and attach them to the rally so they can keep picking at it.
News papers and news sites have noticed how clean the mall was after 500,000 people were there, but not THIS site that started the whole “tea baggers will leave the mall trashed” .
