Max: I’m headed up to NY this weekend to eat amazing food and check out some arty things like the Whitney Biennial. However if I were staying in DC, I’d take advantage of the rainy forecast by watching some Oscar-winning movies and checking out Amy Lin’s work at Addison/Ripley in Georgetown.
Paulo: This Saturday is designated “DO TAXES ALREADY DAY” but after the taxes are done we will reward ourselves with a Japanese all-you-can-eat buffet at Matsutake in Ballston, followed by a trip to the National Gallery to see The Sacred Made Real and The Chester Dale Collection.
Samantha: This weekend I will be attending a wedding in Philly on Friday and then heading to Scranton for their St. Paddy’s Parade on Saturday. But — if I were to be in DC this weekend, I would most definitely be heading to E Street Cinema to catch a showing of An Education (I hear it is amazing). I also would love to catch the photography exhibit of William Christenberry at the Hemphill Fine Arts Gallery on 14th Street.
Dave: My first weekend contribution and I have nothing overly exciting. You’ll be able to find me on Saturday at the Phone Booth as the Wizards take on the Magic. And I mean that in the way that you’ll actually be able to find me if you watch it on TV: It should be pretty empty and there’s a good chance I’m going to wear a bright green Celtics “Beat LA” shirt.

Rebecca: I’ve been out of town the last few weekends, and feel considerably out of the loop when it comes to what’s going on in DC. Therefore, I’ll be scouring this week’s WLDC’s author suggestions, and browsing the event calendars of DestinationDC and CulturalTourismDC to find out what all the cool kids are up to.
Corinne: This weekend, it’s all about the music. Tonight I’ll be seeing The Low Anthem—they’re playing a free show on the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage and then a late show at 9:30 Club. I’ll also be preparing for my trip next week to Austin (yeeha!) for the SXSW music fest, listening to some tunes by Dr. Dog, Ben Sollee, Rocky Votolato and The Giving Tree Band to get me pumped. Saturday evening I’ll be watching my first Wizards game of the season at the Verizon Center (Dave, I’ll look for your green Celtics shirt!), and Sunday I hope to finally check out the new Sweetgreen in my Logan Circle ‘hood. And sticking with the theme of green, since it’s never too early to start celebrating St. Patty’s Day, show me the tinted beer!
Rachel: Friday night will be spent resting up and hydrating for an epic Saturday that will be spent down at RFK for ShamrockFest!!! I’ve never been. I hear it’s awesome. I can’t wait. I have a feeling I’ll be spending a majority of my time at the Irish Village in between rocking out to Stephen Kellog & The Sixers, The Roots, and Jefe Ebbert Sunday will be spent recovering from said epic-adventure.

Shannon: I’ll be spending much of this rainy weekend watching movies. Friday I hope to attend a screening at the DC Independent Film Festival, and on Saturday I’d like to catch up on the Oscar-nominated short films at E Street (because some of the clips shown at the Oscars last week made these films look awesome). On Sunday I’ll be celebrating my Irish heritage– I’m running the St. Patrick’s Day 8K and then checking out the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
Ben: Friday is hockey night in the Rome home, as usual. On the playbill is the Caps/Lightning matchup, which will be either entertaining or a bore. (Thank goodness for Center Ice; I can switch to something else if need be…) Saturday is my monthly “wargaming” day; my friends and I will be engaged in some serious sci-fi wargaming at Games and Stuff in Glen Burnie, MD. Sunday’s a day of relaxation, with a trip to Massage Envy on the books, followed by a nice, light dinner out somewhere in Old Town Alexandria.
Jenn: Head over to Tabard Inn to preview Chantal Tseng’s entry for the Corcoran’s Artini competition, at Thursday’s preview night from 6:30-8:30pm. That should inspire you to check out both art and cocktails all weekend long. Luckily, Thursday night also kicks off Solas Nua’s Irish Writers Festival with events throughout the weekend, if you’re interested in starting your St. Paddy’s Day celebrations with a literary bent. Eight contemporary Irish writers will give free public talks in the only event of its kind in the US. Slainte.
