Ay! Friday, we meet again. How I missed you. My mailbox was a tid slow this week, but no worries, August is supposed to be more relaxed, right? Foodie Round-Up is a bit heavy with coffee news this week, as Mid City Caffe opens, and Restaurant Eve is doing tableside siphon brewing. But we’ve got street cart menus and knife sharpening to boot, so read on, foodie, read on.
On Saturday, August 15th , owners Fernando Acha and designer Mick Mier will unveil Mid City Caffé, a new coffee shop in Washington, DC. Located at 1626 14th Street, Mid City Caffé will offer the neighborhood and greater D.C. community a traditional coffee and pastry destination. Using the finest quality products, all coffee will be sourced from Counter Culture Coffee. In addition to a traditional espresso menu, Mid City Caffé will only use two methods of brewing; French press and a pour-over bar. Both are made to order; ground and brewed right in front of guests, ensuring the freshest cup of coffee is served. This 900-sqaure foot space seats 35 guests inside and additional sidewalk seating will also be available.
