Alright, all the news that is fit to eat in the District for the week, second edition. We’ve got tequila, cherry blossom food finds, cheese, a new restaurant opening, and more. Here goes.
Tonight, head over to the Darlington House for some tequila lessons. For $25 you’ll learn how to make (and sample) 5 tequila-based drinks, and munch on companion eats.
Something to look forward to: April 15th, 2941 is offering a sweet deal to tax payers. After conquering your 1040, it’s time to relax and raise your glass. In the spirit of the season 2941 is offering all specialty cocktails and martinis on the menu for $10.40 on April 15th.
2941 also annouced their Easter menu, an elegant, family friendly celebration featuring a 3-course à la carte menu and a 6-course Easter tasting menu. They say “for our younger guests there will be a special children’s menu and the Easter Bunny will be on hand to greet everyone, pose for pictures and offer goodies from his basket.” Children’s food done by Chef Chemel? Interesting.

Italian eatery Potenza opened this week on March 25th. Executive Chef/Partner Bryan Moscatello spent several weeks traveling extensively throughout Italy researching for Potenza, and it shows. The menu emphasizes elegant Italian cheeses, breads baked on premises in Potenza’s bakery, as well as signature pizzas and homemade pastas. More on Potenza soon, dear readers. Ya’ll know how I feel about cheese.
Speaking of cheese, Del Ray’s Cheesetique announced this month’s class theme: raw milk cheeses. From hard to soft (insert a TWSS joke) you’ll learn all about raw cheeses. Dates range, $35 per person. Side note: This place has cheese, wine, and a patio to enjoy it all on. It’s like my personal heaven. I’ll race you there.
