Have you ever thought you would like to join a group to do some old-fashioned Christmas caroling? Perhaps you noticed you seem daft standing outside singing alone, and are looking for security in numbers? This holiday season there may be a chance for you.

A new group is forming that will be planning to sing around DC at Eastern Market, the Smithsonian, coffee shops, and other locations. Open to singers 21 and over, any tips raised during the season will be used to throw the group a fun party at the end of the season.

This group is being organized by Adriana Aspiazu, a longtime a cappella singer. In college she was president of Soundbytes and a member of the Carnegie Mellon University Repertoire Choir led by Dr. Robert Page. In high school, she was in the ACDA National High School Honor Choir alongside 119 of the most talented chorus students in the country, the Maryland All State High School Honor Choir, Montgomery County Youth Choir, and in 2005, participated in the backing choir of the annual special “Christmas in Washington” behind celebrity guests singing for President Bush and a huge audience.

To audition, potential singers should upload a YouTube video of themselves singing their favorite holiday song, and email that link to carolingdc@gmail.com along with name, voice part, previous experience, availability, and any questions. The group will be assembled in advance of the first rehearsal on November 20th.
