There’s nothing like a nice day in the park to get your photographer creativity flowing, and Dupont Circle is one of those recurring themes in our pool. And Dupont isn’t short of characters or things that make for good pictures.
But every now and then you have to take a new perspective on the ordinary. User julianne’s got down low to get this angle of people playing chess. It’s not an angle we see often, and I like it a lot.
It’s funny you should pick this photo day, Samer. I was thinking on my bus ride to work this morning that I really want a chess board for my apartment. Chess is a lot like life in a lot of ways. It takes careful planning and a strong yet tactile execution after having put your pieces in play to get the win.
Why the chess board for my apartment? As a constant reminder that if you think about your next move, you’re likely to win just as long as you pay attention and play smart. Just like in life.
Great photo.
That’s a good philosophy… My cousin has a shot glass chess board. Imagine the possibilities of that… :)
