Three exciting things just in from Art & Soul:

1) A new Crab and Beer Wednesdays happy hour
2) The introduction of a (gasp) fire pit on the patio (love!)
3) A Puppy Patio Menu complete with doggie drinks, treats and desserts

Let’s start with 1. A Crab and Beer Wednesday includes three super jumbo crabs, corn on the cob or seasonal vegetables, hushpuppies and potatoes, price will vary depending on the market price of the day. I’m sorry, did I just type hushpuppies? YES I DID. God, I love hushpuppies. The restaurant recently went local with its brews on tap, and is now only serving beer from area breweries such as Double Dog Double Pale Ale from Flying Dog Brewery in Maryland and Beach House Golden Pilsner from Old Dominion Brewing Company in Virginia.

Now let’s address the Puppy menu, because I feel as if this is also exciting since I like to pet other people’s dogs since I don’t have my own. If I can drink while this is happening, especially near a fire, this is all the much better. Puppy Menu will be available on the patio only and includes pet-friendly beverages such as Wagtime, your best friends’ non-alcoholic brew; Vitapaw, vitamin enhanced water; and water. Treats include Raw Deal frozen raw bones; “Hungry Dawg” 6 oz. grilled steak; and Gravy Train beef tips topped with vitamin-enhanced sauce with rice.

Brillz.

  1. What was the price for crabs the day you visited? Cheaper during happy hour? What about the beer?

    Thanks!

  2. Emily, first off, i forgot to mention the first one is on the 27th. I’ll be going probably within the next two or three weeks. The crab is going to be market price, and the doggie happy hour prices are as follows:

    Treats

    Raw Deal 5

    frozen raw bones

    Happy Puppy 5

    3 oz grilled steak

    “Hungry Dawg” 8

    6 oz grilled steak

    Gravy Train 5

beef tips in rich vitamin enhanced sauce with rice

    Dessert

    Pure Bread 5

    homemade doggie granola treats

    Puppy Cakes 5

    chef’s selection

    Dog Biscuits 5

I think the beer menu is mildly expensive, I remember paying about $6 when I was there last time.
