I don’t know about you but I’ve been searching for an excuse to get my karaoke on for quite some time. There’s Japone in Dupont where I went a few times in college and Hill Country Texas BBQ has country karaoke once a week, but now there’s a whole new karaoke game in town.

Thanks to Nats fan Laura Murphy for pointing it out earlier today, we now know that Policy (1904 14th Street NW) will start hosting the inaugural season of District Karaoke – the District’s only social karaoke league – this February. For real.

According to the newly created Eventbrite “player” registration page, signing up for the league “comes complete with team t-shirt, beer and food specials, prizes, giveaways, and other season events and cool surprises.”

There’s a limit of six teams made up of eight people and each team must have a minimum of two guys and two ladies per team. It’s $40 to join.

The first night of league play begins February 8 and a pre-season kick-off party will go down on February 1. Check the Eventbrite for more details.
