‘Rock Creek – P Street Bridge Cleanup-7’

Thank you to all who attended the Potomac River Watershed Cleanup that We Love DC sponsored with Trail Voice, Friends of Rock Creek’s Environment, and the DC Trash Runners on Saturday! More than 60 people attended, improving our park by removing:
- 50 bags of trash
- 38 bags of recyclables
- 500 plastic bags (yay, new bag fee!)
- 3,000 cigarette butts
- Top 3 brands of trash: Bud/Busch, Deer Park, and Durex
- Interesting items: Plastic sword, old-school cell phone, umbrella, suitcase, hair extension

Hey volunteers, thanks for doing such great work! If you are interested in doing more volunteer service check out Tysons Corner Kiwanis. This weekend we are participating in the Canal Pride Day Cleanup. On Saturday, projects at Great Falls include: * Raking and mulching * Painting the mule pen * Pulling invasive species * Painting historic structures * Clearing vegetation * Spring cleaning the Tavern
We are a young Kiwanis club in Northern Virginia. Our members range from our early 20’s to our early 40’s. We do projects like park/river clean-ups, soup kitchens, working with animal shelters and youth mentoring activities. You can learn more at tysonscornerkiwanis.org.
