The Twitterphere’s a-twitter this morning with news that the Real World DC will begin filming on June 20th. Their Location? … Dupont Circle. I guess this was to be expected. With plenty of places to eat and bars to destroy frequent, the general Dupont Area is an unshocking choice for RW locale. What do you think?
Acacia has lived in DC since graduating from Vassar College with degrees in English and Italian. She cries daily at the thought of her imminent departure from this beloved city, as she will begin a Fulbright teaching grant in the Campania region, Italy come October. She’ll be blogging that experience too. Get at her: acaciaO@welovedc.com or follow her on twitter.
Goal for the summer: get into a fight with a Real World cast member.
Why, tell me why!
Goal for the summer: Getting a drunk Real World Cast member to get off the Metro in Anacostia on a Saturday night.

Dupont Circle is so last Administration.
Gag me with a spoon.
Dupont is great. Now people are hating on Dupont? geez, I guess it’s not “hip enough”?
…Used to be hip. U street is the new hip.
Goal for summer: photograph Kirk getting in a fight with a RW cast member. :D
They can have 18th St from Fl Ave to Columbia. I don’t go there anymore anyway. And I thought they *tried* to film in Adams Morgan once….
What I want to know is – are they importing people or are the actors, sorry, participants going to be good-looking-for-DC? :-)

i’ve heard various rumors about the site though – Adams Morgan, Mt. Pleasant, etc. I’ll believe it when I see the cameras rolling.
they’re going to get bored real quick LOL
if i see a camera crew at big hunt i’m gonna shove a boom mic up someone’s ass!

As CT would say, the goal this summer is to “pepper someone’s sauce”.
U Street was hip. H Street is the new U Street.
Dupont seems a little too sophisticated and staid to host Real Worlders. I’d expect them to choose something a little edgier like Shaw. As long as they don’t clog up the Metro every morning with camera crews, I don’t care either way.
whew! i’m so glad my beloved dupont is not hip. and my beloved neighbor U street is no longer hip. could use some peace and quiet.
I doubt that’ll be a problem. It seems as if the RW kids don’t use public transportation and are given a car or SUV to use instead. (It was obvious that something was up when they were rarely seen using the subway last season in Brooklyn.) So they’ll be dealing with hellish traffic here.
Wait, how did you settle on filming to begin the 20th? The twits you linked to didn’t say that, at least that I could decipher. But I don’t read twit so well…
