As a way to say thanks to our loyal readers, We Love DC will be giving away a pair of tickets to a 9:30 Club concert to one lucky reader periodically. Keep your eyes open for opportunities to find out what tickets we’re giving away, and leave a comment for your chance to be the lucky winner!
Today, we are giving away a pair of tickets to see Toad the Wet Sprocket at the 9:30 Club on Thursday, Nov. 7.
The California jangle-pop quartet have reformed as a full-time band, put out a single, and vowed to release a new album in September! Their last album was released in 1997, but they are likely still best remembered for the single “All I Want” from 1992.
For your chance to win these tickets, simply leave a comment on this post using a valid email address between 10am and 4pm today. Feel free to leave any comment, but perhaps share your favorite song by Toad the Wet Sprocket! (Do they have any overlooked gems I should check out?) One entry per email address, please. Tickets for this show are also available through Ticketfly.
For the rules of this giveaway…
Comments will be closed at 4pm and a winner will be randomly selected. The winner will be notified by email. The winner must respond to our email within 24 hours or they will forfeit their tickets and we will pick another winner.
Tickets will be available to the winner at the 9:30 Club Guest List window one hour before doors open on the night of the concert. The tickets must be claimed with a valid ID. The winner must be old enough to attend the specific concert or must have a parent’s permission to enter if he/she is under 18 years old.

Oh, blast from the past!
All I Want are tickets to the concert. Gimme!!
Got to love that jangle-pop
That first album is all pretty great. One of my favorites was Stories I Tell.
Toad is awesome. Stories I tell. Favorite as well. :)
Love pretty much everything, but have a major soft spot for “Little Heaven” from their compilation album “In Light Syrup.” It was featured in the Buffy movie during the prom slow dance. Good memories.
“Good Intentions” is my favorite. Saw them live in 1994. Can’t believe its been almost 20 years….
Toadsters unite.
Whatever I Fear has always been my favorite TTWS song. If I’m lucky enough to get the tickets, I Will Not Take These Things For Granted!
Fall Down is definitely my fave.
That’ll be quite the flashback!
Something’s Always Wrong is definitely a favorite as far as the album recordings. If you go to archive.org, there are all sorts of free things on there & there’s a particularly great recording of Glen Phillips at some venue in Athens, GA in the early 2000s, I think. He plays a bunch of Toad songs & it’s all acoustic. If you haven’t heard it, I highly recommend it!
Would love to relive my Santa Barbara days and hear the boys! Lesser known favs have to be “I Think About” from “pale” and “Throw it All Away” from “coil.”
Walk on the Ocean
I like to see Toad the Wet Sprocket every 20 years so now is the time!
Fall Down!
All I Want
I always come back to Somethings Always Wrong, but Hold Her Down is pretty great too.
Something’s Always Wrong
All She Said
I asked Glen to play it once about a decade ago, and he said he couldn’t :(
Crazy Life. Makes me think of high school and the movie Empire Records.
How can it happen that every time
You ask me this question, the answer seems like a lie?
You know what I’m saying, and you know what it means
And it’s always sincere, God knows
But it never gets through to where I need
I love you guys so much I wrote you into my book! I hope I win!
