While it’s not necessarily DC-related, today is Friday and everyone’s brain deserves a short break from reality. Today’s break is compliments of Google celebrating Pac-Man’s 30th birthday by running the game on their homepage.

Who would have thought that a Japanese company called Namco Bandai releasing Puck-Man on May 22, 1980 would become the inspiration for many of the best-known modern game designers.

So take a minute to goof off today. When you do, make sure to celebrate Pac-Man turning the big 3-0.

Rachel moved to DC in the fall of 2005 to study Journalism and Music at American University. When she’s not keeping up with the latest Major League Baseball news, she works on making music as an accomplished singer-songwriter and was even a featured performer/speaker at TEDxDupont Circle in 2012. Rachel has also contributed to The Washington Examiner and MASN Sports’ Nationals Buzz as a guest blogger. See why she loves DC. E-Mail: rachel@welovedc.com.
