A staple of summer here is Six Flags America. And one of the park’s big summertime draws is its Starburst Summer Concert Series – free with park admission or a 2009 Play Pass.
Julia over at Six Flags gave me a great heads-up on this year’s lineup and I thought I’d share with everyone else. (And yeah, I like the park even if the company’s fiscal issues are less-than-desirable.) And it’s a great lineup this year, with acts appealing to pretty much everyone – and all are family-friendly.
June 23: Soulja Boy Tell Em – MySpace phenom from Atlanta, GA
July 1: Mitchel Musso – aka “Oliver Oken” from Hannah Montana on Disney Channel
July 8: Raven-Symoné – child star-turned-artist
July 14: Drake Bell – another child star-turned-musician, on tour for his new album in August
August 6: Metro Station – fronted by Trace Cyrus (brother to Miley) and Mason Musso (brother to Mitchel)
August 12: Flo Rida – pop rapper promoting his R.O.O.T.S. album
Besides the Series, Six Flags has some other great events coming, including:
June 21: Festival Latino featuring Oro Solido and Orquesta San Vicente. This is an all day festival, with shows starting in the afternoon.
June 27: CeCe Winans – mega-hit Gospel recording artist
July 4: Fireworks. ‘Nuff said.
August 22: Chuck Wicks – country musician from the reality series Nashville and Dancing With the Stars.

Unless your highest academic level is the 5th grade, avoid at all costs, six flags and Kings Dominion.
…and now they have officially filed for bankruptcy as of today… fun, fun…
